Purpose

The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment (TEES) Research Impact Award recognizes research that has achieved significant outcomes extending beyond traditional academic boundaries. Impact may include, but is not limited to, commercialization, policy influence, societal benefit, cross-disciplinary adoption or other measurable contributions that demonstrate broach reach and real-world significance.

Deadline: May 5, 2026

Eligibility

  • Nominees must be faculty affiliated with TEES and Texas A&M Engineering.
  • Research highlighted should have demonstrable impact within the last five years. 
  • Impact may be evidenced through:
    • Commercialization or technology transfer
    • Patents or intellectual property in active use
    • Policy or regulatory adoption
    • Societal or community benefit
    • Significant interdisciplinary influence

Nomination Process

  • Nominations may be submitted by department heads, TEES center directors or institute directors.
  • Each nomination should include:
    • A summary of the research project and its outcomes.
    • Impact Metrics (e.g., number of patents issued or licensed, revenue or licensing milestones (summary only), policy citations or adoption examples, commercialization milestones, other measurable outcomes).
    • The nominee's CV (maximum 20 pages).
